We recommend you bring warm clothing and layers, sunglasses, sunscreen, a camera, snacks and any drinks of your choice. Alcoholic beverages are permitted. You will also want a cooler to transport your fileted catch home. Forgot a sweatshirt or need a souvenir? Visit The Leland Harbor House or Tug Stuff! Stop by the Leland Merc for snacks, beverages and a foam cooler. Pick up a famous sandwich to-go from the Village Cheese Shanty located just down the dock. Fishing licenses and other gear can be purchased at The Fish Hook.
The historic Carlson’s Fishery of Fishtown, just down the dock from our slips, will filet and prepare your fish for you. The cost is $5/fish. You can take your fish home to cook up with a favorite recipe OR take your fresh filets to one of Leland’s acclaimed restaurants to be prepared for you! We recommend The Leland Lodge and The Cove.
Leland is a beautiful 26 mile drive up M22 from Traverse City, which has a number of lodging options. Want to stay a bit closer? We recommend The Leland Lodge, The Riverside Inn, the Whaleback Inn and the Falling Waters Lodge, which are all within a few minutes drive or walk from where the boats are docked. You may also choose to check out Airbnb and VRBO for additional options! Northport, Suttons Bay, Lake Leelanau and Glen Arbor are all a short drive as well.
